The high-speed railway from Wuhan to Guangzhou with a total length of 1 068.6 km connecting Wuhan (in Hubei Province), Guangzhou (in Guangdong province), was officially opened on 26th December 2009. The train is more convenient, more punctual and safer.

There are 23 trains, two of the 23 trains are nonstop, il only expend 2 hours and 57 minutes, covering the 922-km long journey in a scheduled 02h57m.

This line of the trains extends over 1 000 km, The trains have a maximum in-service speed of 350 km/h, the line reduce the travel time between Wuhan and Guangzhou from 10 hours to just three hours, so it leads to the real threat to the Airlines.

In order to face this new threat, China Southern Airlines has reduced ticket prices of the aircraft between Wuhan and Guangzhou, with the conditions of people should buy the ticket in advance.
