This history discovery tour will take you to the most important and charming historical cities in China, where you will visit many historical wonders, Buddhism temples and beautiful ancient Chinese archetetures, such as the Forbidden City, Great Wall, the Shaolin Temple and the White Horses Temple( the oldest Buddhism temple in China), the Terra-Cotta Worriors, Longmen Grottoes,the Ming tomb in Nanjing,etc.

Day 1 Place & Transport: Arrive in Beijing, Flight not included Todays Activities: Airport to Hotel Transfer (Beijing)
Day 2 Place & Transport: Beijing Todays Activities: Sacred Way (Ming Tombs), Great Wall, Mutianyu, Mutianyu Cable Car(round trip), Roasted Duck at Hepingmen Quanjude Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner --Sacred Way (Ming Tombs): An attractive tree-lined walk which leads to the Ming Tombs, this is bordered by 12 sets each of animal and human statues, and includes the attractive Great Red Gate, housing a stele on the back of a tortoise, and marble memorial archway. --Mutianyu Great Wall: This less-crowded section of the Great Wall is a pleasant drive 90km NE of Beijing. A cable car takes you to a good section (avoiding a very steep climb), where you can walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. You can return by cable car, walk down or walk along the wall for about an hour to descend by chairlift. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather. --Mutianyu Cable Car(round trip): It is a challenging climb up to the Mutianyu Great Wall for it is much steeper than Badaling section. Here you have the option of taking the Cable car to the highest point or down to the foot in a few minutes instead of climbing more than 1,400 steps, while you can also have a bird view of the wall. --Roasted Duck at Quanjude: In the evening enjoy the Peking Roasted Duck which is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing
Day 3 Place & Transport: Beijing Todays Activities: The Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, The Tiananmen Square Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --The Forbidden City: The Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and 1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this city within a city. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are also absolutely fascinating. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather. --Temple of Heaven: One of the most famous sites in Beijing, this is Ming architecture at its best: beautiful, controlled, and highly symbolic. The surrounding gardens are full of interesting activity, particularly weekend mornings. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather. --The Tiananmen Square: The worlds largest city square and enduring symbol of Chinas national pride, surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Maos Mausoleum.
Day 4 Place & Transport: Beijing to Zhengzhou Todays Activities: Hotel to Train station Transfer (Beijing), Train station to Hotel Transfer (Zhengzhou), Hutong Tours in Rickshaw Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Hutong Tours in Rickshaw: A maze of historic alleyways and old single storey traditional courtyard houses, now fast disappearing. Dotted around the hutong are the Drum and Bell Towers, Kindergarten, Tea House, and local peoples houses. Your tour includes a visit with a local family.
Day 5 Place & Transport: Zhengzhou Todays Activities: Yellow River Scenic Spot, Shang Dynasty Ruins Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Yellow River Scenic Spot: Yellow River, the cradle of Chinese culture. in the Yellow River Scenery Area, you can feel the majesty and immensity of the Chinese mother river --Shang Dynasty Ruins: It lies in the Zhengzhou city with an area of 25 sq m. Today you still can see an ancient city wall as long as 7 km.
Day 6 Place & Transport: Zhengzhou to Luoyang Todays Activities: Shaolin Temple & Pagoda Forest (including Shaolin Kungfu Show) Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Shaolin Temple & Pagoda Forest (including Shaolin Kungfu Show): This temple is shrouded in legend and mystery. The origin of martial arts and kung fu is part of the mystique of Shaolin Temple and the Shaolin monks. This is probably the most famous temple in China, not only because of its long history and its role in Chinese Buddhism, but also because of its martial arts or Wushu. There is a theatre here which presents the famous Kungfu Show at 1030, 1130, 1330, 1430, 1530, and1630. Its best to get there early, as it is only a small theatre with about 200 seats.
Day 7 Place & Transport: Luoyang to Xian Todays Activities: Hotel to Train station Transfer (Luoyang), Train station to Hotel Transfer (Xian), White Horse Temple, Longmen Grottoes Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --White Horse Temple: Backed by Mangshan Mountain and facing the Luohe River, White Horse Temple lies about 20 kilometers to the east of Luoyang city, Henan province. Since White Horse Temple, Buddhism monasteries in China traditionally began to be called as temple. White Horse Temple as a result was ever since regarded as the cradle land of Buddhism in China. In history, highly accomplished Buddhist monks from China, even world renowned Buddhist monks from abroad used to pay visits to White Horse Temple in pursuit of Buddhism inspirations and wisdom; it was thereby also called the Home of Sakyamuni or the Court for Ancestors. --Longmen Grottoes: 13 kilometers to the west of Luoyang, Longmen Grottoes is one of the four largest grottoes in China. Live cultural relics lie amid green mountains and serpentine rivers. As early as 1961, Longmen Grottoes had been authorized by the central government of PRC as a key national cultural relic protection unit. It was authorized in 1982 by central government as one of the 44 National Parks of China. In 2000, it was enlisted into the List of World Heritage.
Day 8 Place & Transport: Xian Todays Activities: Banpo Site, Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts), Big Wild Goose Pagoda Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Banpo Site: Banpo is a village that existed some 6,000 years ago near Xian in the Shaanxi Province of China. Artifacts that have been unearthed from the Banpo site are all that remains of this prehistoric clan-based community. The village grounds occupied a physical area of 50,000 square meters, and consisted primarily of a residential section, a pottery area, and burial grounds. --Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts): This incredible 2000 year-old army of life-sized warriors, each one unique, is part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures were drawn up in full battle array in several large pits. Many of the figures, including soldiers, archers, horses and chariots, have been restored, and the repairs and excavations continue at the site where you can see both repaired and broken warriors in a truly impressive display. There is also an excellent museum, including bronze chariots unearthed nearby, and a film about the history and discovery of the tomb.From parking place to the entrance ,it will take you bout 15 minutes on foot,so China Highlights serve you the golf cart.This Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is about 35 km from Xian --Big Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda (7 floors,64.5meters high) where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India. It is the landmark of the ancient capital city - Xian.
Day 9 Place & Transport: Xian to Nanjing, Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Xian), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Nanjing), Shaanxi Historical Museum, Xian City Wall Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Shaanxi Historical Museum: The large-scale modern State-class museum, is situated at the western side of the "Wild Goose Pagoda" in Xian City. It covers an area of about 70,000 square meters, the architectural area of which is 55,000 odd square meters. It was completed on June 20, 1991 and open to the public. --Xian City Wall: Built in the Ming dynasty over 700 years ago, the Xian City Wall is the most complete ancient city wall in China. The wall measures around 13.9 km in circumference, 12 meters in height, 18 meters wide at its base while 15 meters wide on the top. It is a fine example of Chinas ancient defensive fortifications that were formed over 2,000 years ago, and continued even to the last imperial era of the Qing Dynasty. The wall reflects a brilliant beauty at night when the area is lit up by colorful lights.
Day 10 Place & Transport: Nanjing Todays Activities: Zhonghua Gate, Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, Confucian Temple, Qinhuai River Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch --Zhonghua Gate: Zhonghua Men Gate is the largest castle-style gate among the 13 ancient city gates in Nanjing. Its the best preserved and, architecturally, most complicated ancient castle in the world. The elaborately designed castle contains three closed courtyards and four arched gates serving as entrances to the city. --Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge: This is the first bridge independently designed and constructed by the Chinese themselves. The bridge was added to the Guinness World Records as the worlds longest bridge featuring the dual functions of a highway and a railway. --Confucian Temple: The Confucius Temple built in the Song Dynasty is dedicated to worshiping the great philosopher Confucius. This area has been the center of Confucian study for over 1.500 years. --Qinhuai River: The Qinhuai River is a watery slice of history which contains traces of the citys glorious past and activities of its people. The river bore witness to the many comedies and tragedies occurring in the notorious red-light area along its banks, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
