Day 2

Todays Activities: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Oriental Pearl TV Tower plus History museum, Xintiandi

--Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: A short walk across Renmin Square from the Shanghai Museum, this is a fascinating insight into Shanghai¡¯s future. The 2nd floor has a giant walkaround model of the city, and other floors have great displays, interactive exhibitions and walkthroughs of aspects such as the ports, greening, leisure etc.
--Oriental Pearl TV Tower plus History museum: Standing by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the highest TV Tower in Asia (up to the last floor to see Shanghai scenery).It is a new landmark of Shanghai in 21st century.
Beijing part of the Tower, the History Museum is a window of Shanghai open to all the guests at home and abroad. By means of more than 1,300 pieces of cultural relics, literature and pictures, it presents vividly a holistic picture of the long history of Shanghai from the remote antiquity to the liberation of the city in 1949.
--Xintiandi: Rejuvenated old quarter, with lots of cafes, quirky and upmarket shops, western food and close to the major hotels

Day 3
Place & Transport: Shanghai to Yichang to Yangtze
Todays Activities: Airport Transfer (Shanghai), Airport Transfer (Yichang), Cruise pier Transfer (Yichang), Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Departs Yichang at night--00:00am.
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Yuyuan Garden: In the centre of Shanghai next to the Yuyuan Bazaar, this exquisite old 5-acre garden is famous for its design. The paths wander across bridges, past rockeries and miniature lakes, and through pretty halls and pavilions. The trees and shrubs are planted with an eye to providing charming views, and a sense of peace and harmony.
--Jade Buddha Temple: An active Buddhist temple, and one of the richest in Shanghai. The main treasures are two statues of Buddha, carved from rare single blocks of white jade adorned with precious stones. The temple is a hive of activity with monks, worshippers and visitors, and photos of the Buddhas are forbidden.

Day 4
Place & Transport: Yangtze
Todays Activities: Shore excursion to Three Gorges Dam Site(8:30-10:30am).
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner
--Three Gorges Dam: the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction will be competed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom. The tourists can get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.

Day 5
Place & Transport: Yangtze
Todays Activities: Shore excursion to Shennong Stream(8:00am-12:30pm).
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner
--Shennong Stream is another tributary of the Yangtze River, and its fast-flowing, crystal clear water runs southwards through deep gorges. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations.

Day 6
Place & Transport: Yangtze
Todays Activities: Shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City (8:30-10:30am).
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner
--Fengdu is where the devil lives, according to Chinese legend. They say that spirits go to heaven, and evil goes to Fengdu. The town is overlooked by Ming Shan Hill, home of Tianzi, the King of the Dead. The whole place has an eerie feel to it with deserted streets, tower blocks, empty shops and banks. The only people here are those who make a living from visiting cruise boats.

Day 7
Place & Transport: Yangtze to Chongqing to Lijiang
Todays Activities: Cruise pier Transfer (Chongqing), Airport Transfer (Chongqing), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Lijiang), Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo, Arrives in Chongqing at 9:00am.
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Panda Room in Chongqing Zo Here you can see Giant pandas, Lesser pandas, Golden hair monkeys, South China Tigers and some other national protected animals.

Day 8
Place & Transport: Lijiang
Todays Activities: Yunshanping, The Mural in Baisha Village
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Yunshanping: It is a large patch of pasture tucked away hidden amongst a virgin spruce forest on the eastern side of the Yulong Snow Mountain.
--The Mural in Baisha Village: Baisha village is about 16 kilometers north of Lijiang City. It is the important birthplace of "Tusi" (the Chinese word means chieftain of a clan) from Mu clan. Its characteristic artistic style and precious historic content of the mural deeply attracted visitors from home and abroad.

Day 9
Place & Transport: Lijiang
Todays Activities: The Black Dragon Pool, Lijiang Ancient City, Naxi Ancient Music
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--The Black Dragon Pool: The park holds the Black Dragon Pool and got name because of it. The pool is listed in the Collections of Famous Pools of China because of its beauty.
--Lijiang Ancient City: It is situated in the middle area of the county, which is more than 2400 meters high above sea level. It enjoys beautiful scenes, an indeed famous city with long history and splendid culture, it is very rare in China that such well-preserved minority ancient city still exists.
--Naxi Ancient Music: Combines holy tunes from Daoist and Confucians ceremonies and literary lyrics and topics from poets. Naxi ancient music is praised by the contemporary as the "living fossil of music".

Day 10
Place & Transport: Lijiang to Kunming
Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Lijiang), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Kunming), The Stone Forest
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--The Stone Forest: A fantastic natural phenomena located 90 km southeast of Kunming. The various shapes of karst landscape was formed due to the millions years movement of Earth. The Stone Forest area is the home of the Sani people, their folk customs has become one spectacular scene, the colorful embroidery and minority dances combine with the natural sceneries, which will surely leave you a deep impression.

Day 11
Place & Transport: Kunming to Guilin
Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Kunming), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Guilin), Yuantong Temple, Green Lake Park
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Yuantong Temple: With a history of over 1,200 years, it is the largest temple in Kunming. In 1956, the grand ceremony of greeting and consecrating the Buddhas tooth was held in it. It was in the list among the key Buddhist temples in China issued by the State Council.
--Green Lake Park: Located just opposite the Kunming University, it is one of the most picturesque parks in downtown Kunming. There are nine spring outlets at north of the lake, so it was also named "Nine Dragon Pond" in ancient tomes. Here you may take a leisure walk or enjoy the performance by local people. In November and December every winter, huge flock of red-beaked gulls migrate here from Siberia, constructing a nice scene.

Day 12
Place & Transport: Guilin
Todays Activities: Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes Longsheng Terraced Field in Longji area
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes Longsheng Terraced Field in Longji area: The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. They were built from the Yuan dynasty to the beginning of Qing dynasty by the minority peoples of the area. A 40 minute walk up the stone covered paths and steps reveal the Dragons Backbone, which is called "The champion of the terrace world". Visit Zhuang village and Yao minority villages, and Pingan village, the architecture is unique as no nails are used in construction. The different minority customs and local peoples dressing style are specially delicate and beautiful.

Day 13
Place & Transport: Guilin to Yangshuo
Todays Activities: Li River Cruise, Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree, Yangshuo Moon Mountain
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Li River Cruise: A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery theres something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Between spectacular limestone peaks youll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if youre very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.
--Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree: Big Banyan Tree, located 7.5km south of Yangshuo, is one of the main scenic attractions of Yangshuo County. It is said that the banyan was planted in the Jin Dynasty and is famous for its age and towering beauty. The banyan tree is now 17 meters high, 7.1 meters around the trunk, and covers an area of 1000 square meters.
--Yangshuo Moon Mountain: Moon Cave is named for its giant archway (about 50 meters, 980steps). Be prepared for the local hawkers, who will pester you to buy water, and are very persistent and dont forget to wear your hiking shoes, for its so many steps to climb.

Day 14
Place & Transport: Yangshuo to Guilin to Hong Kong
Todays Activities: Airport Transfer (Guilin), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Hong Kong), Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Reed Flute Cave: Known as the Palace of Natural Arts this large and well-presented cave system has some remarkable formations. Make sure you have some small change for the children who sell flutes for as little as one yuan if youve got nothing less than a dollar youll end up with their whole stock.
--Elephant Trunk Hill: At the confluence of Li River and Peach Blossom River in the southwest of Guilin city
It is a national 4A scenery spot. The Water Moon Cave is close to the river. The water flows through it and the cave looks like a moon floating in the water. The stone drooped into the water like an elephant drinking the water of the Li River.
