Day 1

Day 2
Place & Transport: Beijing
Todays Activities: The Tiananmen Square, Hall of Clocks and Watches, Summer Palace, The Forbidden City

--The Tiananmen Square: The worlds largest city square and enduring symbol of Chinas national pride, surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Maos Mausoleum.
--Hall of Clocks and Watches: Hall of Clocks and Watches set in the Forbidden City£¬2208 square meters£¬show us the clock history of the past 200 years.
--Summer Palace: Much-loved summer retreat of the Imperial families, the lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors are set around the lake and rivers in natural harmony. You can expect to spend 2-3 hours here, including a 10 minute boat ride. Renovations (complete in 2010) mean that an individual section or building may be closed at any one time, but this is a huge site. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
--The Forbidden City: The Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and 1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this city within a city. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are also absolutely fascinating. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.

Day 3
Place & Transport: Beijing
Todays Activities: Great Wall, Mutianyu
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner at Roasted duck at Xiushuidian
--Mutianyu Great Wall: This less-crowded section of the Great Wall is a pleasant drive 90km NE of Beijing. A cable car takes you to a good section (avoiding a very steep climb), where you can walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. You can return by cable car, walk down or walk along the wall for about an hour to descend by chairlift. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
--Beijing Roasted duck: Roasted duck is claimed to be the most delicious food in Beijing.

Day 4
Place & Transport: Beijing to Xian
Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Beijing), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Xian), Temple of Heaven, Hutong Tours in Rickshaw
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Temple of Heaven: One of the most famous sites in Beijing, this is Ming architecture at its best: beautiful, controlled, and highly symbolic. The surrounding gardens are full of interesting activity, particularly weekend mornings. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
--Hutong Tours by Rickshaw: A maze of historic alleyways and old single storey traditional courtyard houses, now fast disappearing. Dotted around the hutong are the Drum and Bell Towers, Kindergarten, Tea House, and local peoples houses. Your tour includes a visit with a local family.

Day 5
Place & Transport: Xian
Todays Activities: The Grand Mosque, Xian City Wall, Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts)
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--The Grand Mosque: With more than 1200 years history, the mosque is one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China. It is really well worth a trip to see the Great Mosque, not only for its history but also for its particular design of mixed architecture¨Ccombining traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. It is among the four most important mosques in China.
--Xian City Wall: It is a major landmark, and the best preserved, as well as the oldest and largest of the city defence systems in China.You also can bike along the city wall (the rental fee is included).
--Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts): This incredible 2000 year-old army of life-sized warriors, each one unique, is part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures were drawn up in full battle array in several large pits. Many of the figures, including soldiers, archers, horses and chariots, have been restored, and the repairs and excavations continue at the site where you can see both repaired and broken warriors in a truly impressive display. There is also an excellent museum, including bronze chariots unearthed nearby, and a film about the history and discovery of the tomb.From parking place to the entrance ,it will take you bout 15 minutes on foot,so China Highlights serve you the golf cart.This Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is about 35 km from Xian.

Day 6
Place & Transport: Xian
Todays Activities: Shaanxi Historical Museum, Xian Stele Forest Museum, Gaos Courtyard(includes Shadow Play)
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Shaanxi Historical Museum: The large-scale modern State-class museum, is situated at the western side of the "Wild Goose Pagoda" in Xian City. It covers an area of about 70,000 square meters, the architectural area of which is 55,000 odd square meters. It was completed on June 20, 1991 and open to the public.
--Xian Stele Forest Museum: With 900 years of history, this treasure house holds a large collection of the earliest stone steles of different periods, from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. All together, there are 3,000 steles and the museum is divided into seven exhibition halls, which mainly display calligraphy, painting and historical records. All of these record some achievement in the development of the Chinese culture and reflect the historical facts of the cultural exchange between China and other countries.
--Gaos Courtyard(includes Shadow Play): The courtyard owner Gao Yuesong was a high ranking official in Ming Dynasty 300 years ago. This famous house has won the Prize of Cultural Heritage Protection in Asian-pacific Area of UNESCO in 2002. The building is nice with inerlinked courtyards and xian typical architectures. The beauty also lies in a shadow play performed by folk artists.

Day 7
Place & Transport: Xian to Guilin
Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Xian), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Guilin), Reed Flute Cave, Piled Silk Hill (Folded Brocade Hill)
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Reed Flute Cave: Known as the Palace of Natural Arts this large and well-presented cave system has some remarkable formations. Make sure you have some small change for the children who sell flutes for as little as one yuan if youve got nothing less than a dollar youll end up with their whole stock.
--Piled Silk Hill (Folded Brocade Hill): It is in the city centre. Its national 4A scenic spot. The traversed stone blocks piled one after another just like the colorful folded silk, thats how the name of the hill came into being.

Day 8
Place & Transport: Guilin
Todays Activities: Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes Longsheng Terraced Field in Longji area
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes Longsheng Terraced Field in Longji area: The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. They were built from the Yuan dynasty to the beginning of Qing dynasty by the minority peoples of the area. A 40 minute walk up the stone covered paths and steps reveal the Dragons Backbone, which is called "The champion of the terrace world". Visit Zhuang village and Yao minority villages, and Pingan village, the architecture is unique as no nails are used in construction. The different minority customs and local peoples dressing style are specially delicate and beautiful.

Day 9
Place & Transport: Guilin to Yangshuo
Todays Activities: Li River Cruise
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Li River Cruise: A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery theres something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Between spectacular limestone peaks youll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if youre very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.

Day 10
Place & Transport: Yangshuo to Guilin to Shanghai
Todays Activities: Airport Transfer (Guilin), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Shanghai), Yangshuo Moon Mountain, Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Yangshuo Moon Mountain: Moon Cave is named for its giant archway (about 50 meters, 980steps). Be prepared for the local hawkers, who will pester you to buy water, and are very persistent and dont forget to wear your hiking shoes, for its so many steps to climb.
--Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree: Big Banyan Tree, located 7.5km south of Yangshuo, is one of the main scenic attractions of Yangshuo County. It is said that the banyan was planted in the Jin Dynasty and is famous for its age and towering beauty. The banyan tree is now 17 meters high, 7.1 meters around the trunk, and covers an area of 1000 square meters.

Day 11
Place & Transport: Shanghai
Todays Activities: Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Market, Yuyuan Garden, Oriental Pearl TV Tower plus History museum
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
--Jade Buddha Temple: It is one of the main tourist highlights in Shanghai and its also the most active temple in China. If youre lucky, you can watch the monks serving ceremony in a side room.
--Yu Market: It is a busy market today, specializing in traditional arts and crafts. Outside, however, it still looks like a temple. A saying goes like this: One cant boast that he had been to Shanghai if he did not pay a visit to Chenghuang Temple. While the Temple to the City Gods does not have anything new or interesting to see. We will stop for few minutes to give you time to browse the stalls.
--Yuyuan Garden: A traditional Chinese park decorated by beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rock formations. Yuyuan Garden is not only a famous classical garden in South China, but also a major historic and cultural site under state protection.
--Oriental Pearl TV Tower plus History museum: Standing by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the highest TV Tower in Asia (up to the last floor to see Shanghai scenery).It is a new landmark of Shanghai in 21st century.
Beijing part of the Tower, the History Museum is a window of Shanghai open to all the guests at home and abroad. By means of more than 1,300 pieces of cultural relics, literature and pictures, it presents vividly a holistic picture of the long history of Shanghai from the remote antiquity to the liberation of the city in 1949.
