Beijing ¡ú Xian ¡ú Guilin ¡ú Hong Kong
See the Bold Dreams of Chinas Ancient Emperors at incredible Forbidden City and Great Wall and the amazing Entombed Warriors but then experience the awesome beauty of Guilins Li River Hong Kong "the Pearl of the Orient"
Day 1 Place & Transport: Arrive in Beijing Todays Activities: Airport to Hotel Transfer (Beijing) Detailed Itinerary: Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts - an ancient capital with some incredible historical sites and a bustling modern metropolis getting ready to host the 2008 Olympics. Upon your arrival in Beijing, our guide will meet you and transfer you to your Hotel. The guide will give you some tips on local restaurants that we recommend and shopping in streets nearby. The rest of the day is free to rest to recover from jetlag or to explore by yourself.
Day 2 Place & Transport: Beijing Todays Activities: Great Wall, Mutianyu, Mutianyu Cable Car(round trip), Sacred Way (Ming Tombs), Roasted Duck at Hepingmen Quanjude Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner Detailed Itinerary: After breakfast, our guide will accompany you to the Great Wall - Mutianyu Section which has some unique characteristics over other sections. It is surrounded by wonderful landscape and has a rarely seen structure formed by three connected watch towers and the cable car provides a safe comfortable assent and decent. Lunch is at local restaurant near the Wall. In the afternoon, youll enjoy visiting the attractive tree-lined Sacred Road, bordered by stone statues along which the Emperors once trod to conduct their sacred ceremonies. Dinner is at Quanjude which serves the world known Beijing roasted duck.
Day 3 Place & Transport: Beijing Todays Activities: The Forbidden City, Hutong Tours in Rickshaw Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: Firstly today, we visit the Forbidden City where you will be able to experience the ancient emperors daily life. Emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties governed for over 500 years. The magnificent and solemn palace will arouse your imagination regarding the life of Chinese emperors. This afternoon we are going to have the unique experience of by taking a rickshaw ride to the Hutong. We will visit a local flea market which is an excellent example of typical architecture of this area. You may find some interesting things and learn how to bargain. You will also visit with a local family and talk to the family members to gain a true understanding of life in this region and experience of this unique form of community. We can guarantee you will have impressive stories to tell your friends.
Day 4 Place & Transport: Beijing to Xian Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Beijing), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Xian), Xian City Wall, Evening Show at Tang Yuegong Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: You will be free in the morning until being transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Xian which is of the oldest cities in China. Xian was the national capital for over 1,000 years and was also the starting point of the Silk Road. On arrival we will take a half-hours hike along the Ancient City Wall to familiarize ourselves with this fascinating cross cultural city city. For the energetic we recommend a ride bike along the top of the wall (Bikes can be rented for around 20 yuan/hour). Another highlight of the day is the evening show which presents the palace dances and songs from the Tang Dynasty when China was ruled from Xian.
Day 5 Place & Transport: Xian Todays Activities: Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts), Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: After breakfast in the hotel, you will set off for the incredible 2000 year-old Terra cotta warriors. The Warriors are part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures in full battle array are formed for battle in several large pits. Many of the figures - soldiers, archers, horses and chariots have been restored. The repairs and excavations continue at the site where you can see both repaired and broken warriors in a truly impressive display. There is also an excellent museum which includes bronze chariots unearthed nearby, and a film about the history and discovery of the tomb. It will takes about 15 minutes to walk from parking place to the entrance, so we have provided an electric car to make the day a little easier. In the afternoon we¡¯re going to the Bell Tower where you can get a bird¡¯s view of the city from the top. There is a music performance of the ancient music and a display of the instruments. We will continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his collection of classic Buddhist artifacts brought from India.
Day 6 Place & Transport: Xian to Guilin Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Xian), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Guilin), The Grand Mosque Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: The last stop in Xian is the Grand Mosque which is one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China and has a history of more than 1,200 years. The mosques architecture combines traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. In the afternoon your guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin.
Day 7 Place & Transport: Guilin Todays Activities: Li River Cruise, Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree, Yangshuo Moon Mountain Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: Guilin is famous for its stunning scenery, and the best way to see it is from the deck of a Li River Cruise boat. The boats leave from various wharves, according to river height at different times of the year, and youll be transferred to the appropriate pier for an unforgettable trip downriver to the lovely old town of Yangshuo. You can spend the afternoon exploring some of Yang Shous best attractions. Moon Hill requires some hiking but its worth the effort to climb this unusual formation just for the view. Dont forget to wear your hiking shoes as there are quite a few steps to climb. Before returning to Guilin by private bus we stop at the Big Banyan Tree. It dates to the Jin Dynasty more than 1400 years old and is famous for its towering beauty.
Day 8 Place & Transport: Guilin to Hong Kong Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Guilin), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Hong Kong), Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch Detailed Itinerary: Today agenda features Guilin. Elephant Trunk Hill (which really does look like an elephant drinking from the river) and Reed Flute Cave, which is a vast and very impressive cave system, are two of the best attractions in the city. Make sure you have plenty of small change with you at the caves - the children there sell flutes for about 1 yuan, and if you only have an American dollar, youre likely to end up with a whole basketful of flutes! You fly on to Hong Kong in the afternoon.
Day 9 Place & Transport: Hong Kong Todays Activities: Half day tour to Victoria Peak, Aberdeen, Repulse Bay Meals: Breakfast Detailed Itinerary: Hong Kong is a fascinating combination of East and West but it has its own unique and distinctive culture. Your half day tour will take in Victoria Peak, Hong Kongs number one tourist destination. It features the 112 year old Peak Tram and Hong Kongs most unusual building, The Peak Tower. Next stop is Aberdeen Harbor which is home to hundreds of people living on fishing junks. If you would like close up look at this unusual way of life, you can take a sampan ride (US$10-12). Repulse Bay is the last stop today; it is one of Hong Kong¡¯s most exclusive residential areas.
Day 10 Place & Transport: Depart Hong Kong, Todays Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Hong Kong) Meals: Breakfast Detailed Itinerary: Your time is your own, until you are ready to be transferred to the airport for your departure.
