Day 1: Beijing-Urumqi-Kashgar Take the morning flight from Beijing to Urumchi,( Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the most inland city in the world. )the guide will meet you at the airport, after lunch visit the regional museum(see the well preserved mummies from this region and the grand bazaar of the town, after early dinner take the evening flight to Kashgar. Overnight in Kashgar best tourist hotel.
Day 2: Kashgar-Karakol Lake-Kangshiwa After breakfast drive to Karakul lake(3600m) on the Pamir Plateau, we will do some a shopping at the small village named Opal one of the biggest village after kashgar. This day we will follow the world famous KKH. Enjoy the beautiful Scenery of Mt Konggur 7719m and Muztagh Ata(7546m). Lunch at the lake side restaurant . After lunch start the trekking to Kangshiwa(3700m), is a very beautiful Kirgiz village, it is a easy trek from karakul lake, It takes 3-4 hours. Camp near the Kangshiwa river .
Day 3: Kangshiwa-Khoshkarchi Kangshiwa to Khoshkarchi(4200m) takes about 5-6 hours. it is one of the best place to see the Muz Tag Ata, the trek is always uphill today, we will walk through the Kangshiwa river and rocks, this day youll see the Kyrgyz nomads. and we will try some Kirgiz milk tea here, Kyrgyz is one of the Turkic people living in China. Camp near by the Kirgiz village.
Day 4: Khoshkarchi-B.C Muztagh Khoshkarchi to B.C of Muztagh Ata 6 hours. This day it will be the hardest trek to the B.C, is all down hill till the Subash Village,we will have a picnic here and continue to the B.C of Muztagh Ata. following the narrow path of the nomads, it will take 4 hours to get there, Muztagh is the third highest peak on the Kunlun Mountain Range with a elevation of 7546m. Camp at the base camp.
Day 5: B.C Muztagh-Choltumak-Kashgar B.C to Choltumak to 204, after breakfast we will start trek to Choltumak, it will take max 1 hour, A very nice Kirgiz village, nice valley we will have some rest here with some hot milk tea with the local people, and the continue trek to 204,it will take 3 hours to get there, lunch will be provided in a yurt with could beers, and then drive back to Kashgar, dinner will be in a nice Uygur restaurant . Overnight in the hotel with shower.
Day 6: Kashgar-Urumchi If one would like to see a place where time has stood still it is Kashgar (Kashi). Walking through the narrow lanes of this old town evokes a scene from the Arabian Nights. Kashgar has remained sheltered from outside influences with locals who are very friendly. Amongst the most popular professions are coppersmiths, carpenters, jewelers and cobblers, all using tools of bygone days. Our tour of Kashgar also includes the Abak Hoja Tomb, the Id Kah Mosque and the old town where we might even take a ride on the donkey cart taxi. One of the most popular events in the town is the weekly Sunday Bazaar that draws a variety of ethnic groups like the Uighur, Tajik, Kyrgyz and Kazakh to the streets of Kashgar. They come on foot, bikes, horsebacks, modern motorcycles and donkey carts, all with the hope of selling merchandise that ranges form scissors to camels. Enjoy mingling with the locals and learn to sharpen your bargaining skills. Evening flight to Urumchi.
