Day 1: Lhasa Arrive at Lhasa - Acclimatize yourself to the high altitude Arrive at Lhasa: The altitude is 3,650 meters above sea level. Transfer to the hotel and acclimatize yourself to the high altitude in the afternoon. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. D
Day 2: Lhasa Potala Palace - Jokhang Temple - Barkhor Street Have breakfasts at the hotel, visit Potala Palace, originally built by King Songtsen Gampo in the seventh century, Potala Palace is located on the Red Hill of Lhasa, Tibet. Discover the Jokhang Temple, with an area of 25,100 square meters (about six acres), it is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. Promenade at the Barkhor Street, it is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the Tibetan people are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, this street is also a must-see place for the tourists. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. B+L+D
Day 3: Lhasa Drepung Monastery - Sera Monastery C Norbulingka Have breakfasts at the hotel, visit Drepung Monastery which is the largest monastery in Tibet and lies in the west of Lhasa. Then, visit the Sera Monastery, the highlight of the Monastery is lamas debating on Buddhist Doctrine. The debating is held from 15:30 to 16:30 every day except Saturday and Sunday. Have lunch, visit Norbulingka (the Summer Palace), listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2001 as an extension of Potala Palace. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. B+L+D
Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse Drive to Gyantse - Yamdrok Yumtso Lake - Palcho Monastery Drive to Gyantse, stop at the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, it is one of three holy lakes in Tibet. It is the largest freshwater lake at the south foot of the Himalayas with an area of about 638 square kilometers (about 246 square miles). Arrive at Gyantse, visit Palcho Monastery. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. B+L+D
Day 5: Gyantse - Shigatse Drive to Shigatse - Tashilhunpo Monastery Have breakfasts at the hotel, drive to Shigatse, also named Xigatse, means 'the fertile land'. Covering an area of over 3875 square kilometers (about 1496 square miles), this frontier city is the second largest in Tibet. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, which is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet. Also called the Heap of Glory, the monastery is located at the foot of Drolmari (Tara's Mountain), Shigatse. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. B+L+D
Day 6: Shigatse - Tsetang Drive to Tsetang C Samye Monastery Drive to Tsetang, stop at the Samye Monastery, located in the quiet piedmont area of the Shannan Region, the Samye Monastery is the first temple to be built in Tibet and the first complete with the three Buddhist jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. With these unique features, this splendid temple has become an attraction for visitors from near and far. Arrive at Tsetang, Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. B+L+D
Day 7: Tsetang Trandruk Monastery - Graveyard of Tibetan Kings - Yumbu Lakhang Visit Trandruk Monastery which is situated at the southern slope of the Mt. Gangpo Ri about two kilometers (one mile) from the Tsedang Town. Discover the Graveyard of Tibetan Kings, it is the largest imperial graveyard in Tibet. It's situated in Qonggyai County, Shannan. Continue to visit Yumbu Lakang. Located on the east bank of the Yalong River southeast of Tsedang Town, the Yumbu Lakang is famed as the first Tibetan palace. Have dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8: Tsetang - Lhasa Return to Lhasa-Fly to next destination Return to Lhasa, transfer to airport and take flight to next destination. Service ends
