Day 1: Beijing C Simatai Jinshanling Great Wall C Simatai Great Wall Depart from Beijing, about 2 hours on the way. Upon arrival, trekking from Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great Wall(5 kms) Have picnic on the wall. Arrive at Simatai in the afternoon. Have dinner and overnight at Simashanzhuang. Jinshanling Great Wall is situated on the Big and Small Jinshanling, hence Jinshanling sectionits name. Based on huge stone bars, the Great Wall was then made by huge bricks, each of which weighed about 12 kilograms (26 pounds). It has five main passes and 67 watchtowers. Every 100 meters (328 feet), there is an enemy tower each of which is about ten meters (33 feet) high. L+D
Day 2: Simatai - Huangyaguan - Eastern Qing Tombs - Zunhua Huangyaguan Great Wall CEastern Qing Tombs Have breakfast at the hotel. Drive to another part of the Wall Huangyaguan. About 2 hours driving on the way, arrive at Huangyaguan. Trekking from Huangyaguan to Taipingzhai (4 km in 4 hours). Have lunch at local restaurant, visit Huangyaguan Great Wall and Eastern Qing Tombs in the afternoon. Have dinner and overnight at Zunhua international hotel. Huangyaguan Pass: In 1984, the people of Tianjin spent three years repairing 3,308 yards of the main wall from Banlagang Mountain in the east to Wangmaoding Mountain in the west. They restored 20 terraces, the Huangyaguan Water Gate, and the Bagua Castle (the Eight Diagrams Castle). The defensive system of the wall is complete. Watch towers, frontier cities, drain holes, emplacements, barracks and other indispensable military facilities are arranged orderly along the wall. Besides, the stele forests of the Great Wall, Beiji Temple, the exhibition hall of famous couplets, the Great Wall Museum (the first museum along the Great Wall) and the Phoenix Fortress have been newly built within the area. The Eastern Qing Tombs, a sacred burial ground near Beijing, is one of the two tomb areas devoted to the emperors, empresses and imperial concubines of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911, the last feudal empire in China).The other is the Western Qing Tombs. Day 3 : Zunhua - Qinhuangdao Drive to Qinghuangdao - Laolongtou Great Wall Have breakfast at the hotel, drive to Qinhuangdao(4 hours on the way) Have lunch on the way, arrive at Qinghuangdao. Visit Laolongtou Great Wall which is the east end of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). In the center of the old town, the First Pass under Heaven (Shanhaiguan Pass) is the first pass of great military importance in the Great Wall. Free at leisure at Qinghuangdao. Have dinner and overnight at hotel. B+L+D
Day 4: Qinghuangdao - Beijing Jiaoshan Great Wall-Return to Beijing Have breakfast at the hotel, visit Jiaoshan Great Wall. After lunch, return to Beijing. Arrive at Beijing, services ends. B+L
