Hengyang, known as the "gateway to Hunan," is located at the confluence of the Leishui, Zhengshui, and Xiangjiang rivers and at the junction of the Beijing-Guangzhou and Xiangtan-Guilin railways. It is one of the important hubs both of land and water transportation in south Hunan. The traffic system in Hengyang City is rather well-developed.
By Air The Huanghua International Airport in Changsha is about two hours drive from Hengyang. The airport has lots of domestic and international airlines to different destinations.
By Train Two major railways run through this area, linking Hengyang to many cities all around the country.
By Boat Hengyang is located on the reaches of three big rivers, which have all been open to shipping to reach the Yangtze River and all coastal cities.
By Road The road system in the city consists of two expressways, one highway and national way, which make traveling in the city very convenient.
By Taxi There are abundant of taxies in the city. Fares vary according to the size of vehicle. Generally, the basic fee is RMB 6 with RMB 1.2 for each additional kilometer.
