Because there is no railway passing by in Hetian City, transportation in the city is mainly by air or by bus.

By Air

The airport is about 12 km far away from the city proper and has opened shuttle flights to Urumqi every day.

By Road

The national way No.315 passes across Hetian and links the city with Kashgar, Minfeng, Yecheng, Luntai, and other cities in the province. The road condition is rather good. Now, there are new expressways under constructions.

By Taxi

Hetian and most attractions are all located in the desert and the most convenient way for traveling is to rent a jeep. Jeeps are available around the city.
