Yangtze River is the longest and the biggest water thoroughfare from east to west. Beijing-Kowloon railway is the longest and the highest modern land thoroughfare from south to north in China, the two big arteries join here, so Jiujiang become the golden cross juncture with the Yangtze River extending from the east to the west, with the Beijiang-Kowloon Railway linking the north with the south.
The land and water modern transportation is very convenient. Jiujaing port is one of the biggest ports of Yangtze River valley, its passenger transportation and freight transportation is numbering the second and the fourth of all the ports along the Yangtze River. Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Wujiu (Wuhan-Jiujiang), Hejiu(Hefei-Jiujiang) join together, Tongjiu(Tongling-Jiujiang)railways are constructing now; Changjiu and Jiujing Expressways and the 105, 316 national highways pass through Jiujiang. Jiujiang airport is running actively.
