Xi'an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone began to be built in 1991. It's located in south of Xi'an, the area of universities and research centers, 6km from the center of city, 8km from the railway station and 50km from the airport.
This zone will be an area of 34km2 and at present, the construction of 13km2 has already finished. The area is occupied by 6 professional zone, 4 university zone and Chang'an technical base. The university science zone, software zone, the lab of sciences and technology and the hi-tech products export zone became national-level professional zones.
