Ship Information

Victoria Prince

An exclusive cruise operator based in New York, Victoria Cruises established new standards of excellence for Yangtze cruising in 1994 with the inaugural sailing of Victoria I. Its sister ships Victoria II, III & IV followed in subsequent years, with Victoria V and VI under construction. All of the Victoria ships have modern navigation, and have been custom designed for the unique conditions of the Yangtze, and exceed the most rigorous safety requirements, with full double hulls, and fitted with the best equipment.

Highlights include the famed Three Gorges "C Qutang, Wu and Xiling" C showcasing dramatic scenery, deep valleys, verdant landscapes and stunning vistas; shore excursions of the Small Gorges with visits to either Shennong Stream Gorges or the Daning River; and the Three Gorges Dam Site, the worlds largest construction project and an engineering marvel.

The Eastern Yangtze itinerary takes cruisers between Shanghai and Wuhan, upstream and downstream. The city of Nanjing, with its historical significance as the seat of the Imperial Court by the first Ming emperor. In 1912, Dr. Sun Yat-sen declared Nanjing the capital of the new Nationalist Republic of China. Shore excursions to see the beauty of Mt. Huangshan is a popular point of interest.

The Classic Yangtze sailing brings the magnificence of the Three Gorges and the Small Three Gorges into view. The ship journeys through vast canyons as it carries travelers between Chongqing and Wuhan.

All cruises feature professional, multi-lingual, Western cruise directors and well-trained local staff; a full range of facilities; excellent cuisine (both Western and Chinese specialties); standard cabins offering comfortable accommodations as well as luxuriously-appointed suites; interesting lectures on history and culture; live entertainment featuring traditional performing arts; and more.

Of six Victoria ships, Victoria Star is the first to receive the top five-star rating from the China National Tourism Administration. It is equipped with satellite TV (HBO is available), BBC broadcasting, instant fax service and Internet access.
